GOOD NEWS: First, I celebrated my sixteenth birthday on 6/27! Yay, becuz I can get my permit! XD Second: I have a job babysitting my cousins for the rest of this summer and the next summers for a while for $25 a week! *awes at all the things I can buy* Third: I just bought the second Pokemon Ranger game- (which is pretty awesome, just like the original- and while this may seem surprising, I finally beat my Pokemon Diamond game(by that I mean beating the elite four) after over two years of having the game! lol, I just never got around to doing it, and also the fact that I really regret picking turtwig as my starter, and i made up for that by choosing piplup on Platinum.
BAD NEWS: Not too long ago- a year perhaps-our white Boxer Casper had a large bump on his head. The size of a large grape, we went to the veterinarian about it. Also concerned, the vet advised us to have it removed because it was attached to his skull and could burst at anytime. Before I go on, you need to know something about White Boxers like Casper. Normal boxers are NOT completely white, but he is in fact a purebred boxer. White Boxers, I have come to learn, are more prone to cancer than their fawn brothers and sisters. Anyways, when we had it removed, it was only a dermal cyst, which was a great relief because it was not a serious problem. Almost a year later, on July 9, 2009, we took him to the vet for a similar problem, only this time he had three new bumps on his body- one on his ear, one on his belly, and one on his right front paw. As the doctor examined his bumps, the one on his foot- which was a little larger than the one that had been on his head- concerned her deeply, and she even wanted us to come in the next morning to have it removed. The next Monday- we had gone on a trip and took him with us, so we took him four days after the appointment- the doctor removed both the one on his paw and the one on his belly. During the operation, the doctor was concerned that what was being removed might be cancer, so we had it sent out to be tested. Some two weeks after the appointment with the vet, the results came back...
Casper, at only three years of age, was diagnosed with cancer. Of the four types of cancer, he was diagnosed with type two. Unfortunately, this type of cancer does not respond to chemotherapy or any type of treatment... The doctor also said that it could go to the lymphnodes and the liver, and the only thing we can do is remove the ones on the outside of his body when we see them
I always thought whenever I read about how white boxers are far more likely to get cancer, Well beat those odds. Casper wont get cancer, hes too healthy, and its just not going to happen to him. Now I think, What will I do when hes gone?
This is a tough time for all of us, so keep us in your thoughts and prayers (for those of you who pray) as we go through this rough time...
Thank you for reading all of that, I know it was quite a mouthful...
